Combining Different Brands to Create a Holiday Card Using Only Dies

Hello friends. Here’s a quick and simple Holiday card that was created entirely from dies. No stamping required! This card combines Catherine Pooler Designs, Lawn Fawn and Queen & Company products.

For this card, I cut a piece of Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″ to create an A2 card base. I die cut another piece of Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ using the Lawn Fawn Peppermint Stripes Backdrop, which I adhered to the front of the card base.

I die cut the holly leaves from green cardstock from the DCWV Single-Sided Brights Mat Stack 4.5″ x 6.5″ and the berries from red metallic cardstock from Tim Holtz idea-ology Metallic Jewels 8 x 8 Paper Stash Kraft Stock using the Catherine Pooler Designs Candy Cane Christmas Dies. I colored the leaves with Stampin’ Up! Old Olive Ink to give them some added dimension.

I die cut the sentiment from red metallic cardstock from Tim Holtz idea-ology Metallic Jewels 8 x 8 Paper Stash Kraft Stock using Lawn Fawn Henry’s ABCs Dies and the Queen & Company Sentiment Stacker Dies.

On the inside of the card, I stamped another sentiment from Lawn Fawn Henry’s Build-A-Sentiment: Winter Stamps with Stampin’ Up! Old Olive Ink. I also added another set of holly leaves and a bow.

Christmas Gnome Card featuring Trinity Stamps

Hello friends. This cute gnome Christmas card features the cute little gnome from the Trinity Stamps Springtime Gnome dieset.

For this card, I cut a piece of Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 5-1/2 x 11″ and scored at 5-1/2″ to create a square card base, a piece of pattern paper from my stash for the background which I die cut using the Queen & Company Foundation 16. I embossed the panel using the Embossalicious Christmas Merriment Embossing Folder (discontinued) to add some texture.

I die cut the hillsides from Lawn Fawn Spiffier Speckles 6×6 Inch Paper using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders and Queen & Company Foundation 16 and used Foam Tape to pop up the front hillside.

I die cut the gnome using the Trinity Stamps Springtime Gnome. I used Stampin’ Up! Very Vanilla 8-1/2″ X 11″ Cardstock for the face and nose (I also used some Spun Sugar Distress Ink to color them), Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ for his beard, Reverse Confetti Very Merry 6 x 6 Paper (discontinued) for his hat, Tim Holtz Metallic Idea-ology 8 x 8 Metallic Jewels Kraft Stock Paper for his hat band, hands and feet.

I die cut the wreath and trees using the Scrappy Tails German and American Christmas House Add-On Metal Craft Die. I used Crafters Companion Shimmering Cardstock 8 x 8 Green Envy (discontinued) and Garden Green 8-1/2″ X 11″ Cardstock for the trees and Stampin’ Up! Poppy Parade 8-1/2″ X 11″ Cardstock, Stampin’ Up! Real Red 8-1/2″ X 11″ Cardstock, and Reverse Confetti Very Merry 6 x 6 Paper (discontinued) for the bases.

I die cut the sentiment 1x from Tim Holtz Metallic Idea-ology 8 x 8 Metallic Jewels Kraft Stock Paper and 2x from Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ using the Queen & Company Sentiment Stacker Dies #1 (discontinued). I finished off the card by adding some Tonic IVORY SEASHELL Nuvo Crystal Drops to the trees.

On the inside of the card, I added a strip of pattern paper from Reverse Confetti Very Merry 6 x 6 Paper (discontinued) cut to 1 x 5-1/2″ and a piece of Tim Holtz Metallic Idea-ology 8 x 8 Metallic Jewels Kraft Stock Paper cut to 1-1/4 x 5-1/2″.

Slimline Easter Window Scene feat. Lawn Fawn Eggstraordinary Easter

Hello friends. Here’s another cute Easter card using the Lawn Fawn Eggstraordiary Easter stampset. For this one I made a slimline card with several little scenes.

For this card, I cut a piece of Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 7 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 3-1/2″ to create a card base and die cut another piece using the Catherine Pooler Essentials Slimline Die. This creates the little windows.

For the panel backgrounds I cut three pieces to 2-5/8 x 3″ from Queen and Company’s Flirty Florals 6 X 6 Paper Pad. I alos die cut grass from Simon Says Stamp 100# Green Apple Cardstock.

I stamped the images from Lawn Fawn Eggstraordinary Easter onto Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ with Memento Tuxedo Ink and colored them with Copic Markers.

I used C00, C1, R20 and blender for the bunnies; YR16, Y11, Y15 and R20 for the chicks; BG10, BG32, Y13, Y17, V22 & V28 for egg 1; E29 & E37, C3, V22, V28, & V99 for the brush; BV20, BV13 & BV17, R81 & R83, BG10 & BG15 for egg 2; 13, Y15, Y17, R81, R83 & R85 for egg 3;V22, V28 & V29, E33, E34 & E37 for the paint bucket; Y11 & Y15, YR14 & YR16, R37 for butterfly 1; Y15, BG10 & BG32, R32 & R37 for butterfly 2; and YG25 & YG17, R32 & R37, V25 & 22, Y11 & Y15, and BG10 & BG32 for teh tulips. I used the coordinating dies to die cut.

I stamped the sentiment from Lawn Fawn Eggstraordinary Easter Add-on onto Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ with Memento Tuxedo Ink and cut them down tostrips that fit the top and bottom of the card front.

On the inside of the card, I stamped another sentiment from Lawn Fawn Eggstraordinary Easter Add-on with Memento Tuxedo Ink and added a chick.

Getting the Most From Your Dies, Featuring Simon Says Stamp Dies

Hi friends. Today I’m bringing you two cards featuring the Simon Says Stamp Dazzling Circle and Blooming Circle Dies. One card uses the dies in the way they were intended but the second card uses it in a different way — using the positive diecuts to create a background. This is an easy way to create a background.

Traditional Use of Die

For the first card I started by cutting a piece of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″. Then I cut a piece of green gingham paper (from the Birthday paper pack included in the Crafty Parcel) to 4 x 5-1/4” and diecut the wreath in the top center of the panel using the Simon Says Stamp Dazzling Circle Die (no longer available as it was part of the Stamptember release). I added some 3M Foam Tape to the back of the panel and adhered a square piece of Stampin’ Up! Granny Apple Green 8-1/2″ X 11″ Cardstock on the card base behind the wreath. The easiest way to do this is to add the foam tape to the wreath panel and then attaching the green square piece behind that and then adhering it to the card base.

I diecut a bunch of flowers from 6 different colored scraps of cardstock using the Simon Says Stamp Blooming Circle Wafer Dies and adhered them to the wreath using Tombow Mono Multi-liquid Glue.

For the sentiment, I diecut ‘Celebrate’ from the Sentiment Stacker Dies #1 with some Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ for the sentiment and pink glitter foam from Queen & Company’s Glitter Fun Foam – Rainbow for the shadow. I finished it off the by adding some Love from Lizi Peel-offs in Clear Iridescent Pink Glitter and some Nuvo Crystal Drops in Gloss White.

On the inside of the card, I cut a strip of Green Gingham paper (from the Birthday paper pack included in the Crafty Parcel) to 1 x 4-1/4″. I stamped a greeting from the Catherine Pooler Stamp of Approval Young at Heart Collection stampset (I don’t think this is available in her shop anymore) in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and Catherine Pooler Party Dress Ink. I finished it off by adding some additional flowers.

  • Card Base = 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″ Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″
  • Top Panel = 4 x 5-1/4” Green Gingham paper (from the Birthday paper pack included in the Crafty Parcel)
  • Inside Strip = 1 x 4-1/4″ Green Gingham paper (from the Birthday paper pack included in the Crafty Parcel)

Creating a Background Using Just Dies

For the second card I started by cutting a piece of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″ and a piece of Neenah 80lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 4 x 5-1/4”. I diecut the several leaves from Stampin’ Up! Old Olive Cardstock using the Simon Says Stamp Dazzling Circle Die (no longer available as it was part of the Stamptember release). I think I diecut about 3 wreaths with the die. I diecut flowers from 6 different colored scraps of cardstock using the Simon Says Stamp Blooming Circle Wafer Dies.

Card Front

I adhered the leaves and flowers to the front panel using Tombow Mono Multi-liquid Glue, creating a pattern. I coated it with Matte Gel Medium to seal it because the images are so small they might come unglued without it. Next I stamped a sentiment from the Newton’s Nook Designs Newton Loves Cake with Catherine Pooler Designs Royal Treatment Ink Pad onto a piece of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ and diecut it using a Studio Katia Stitched Square Nested Die set. I used the smaller square in the set. I adhered it to a piece of Stampin’ Up! Old Olive Cardstock and fussycut around it, creating a mat layer. I popped it up on my card with some 3M Foam Tape. I added a small bow made from 1/4” Lavender Double-Faced Satin Ribbon from my stash and a little flower to the sentiment area. I finished it off by adding some Nuvo Drops in Ivory Seashell to the centers of the larger flowers.

On the inside of the card, I just added some flowers. And that completes this card.
