Slimline St. Patrick’s Day Gnome Card featuring Trinity Stamps

Hello friends. I am loving the new Springtime Gnome Die Set from Trinity Stamps! You can make so many cute gnomes and they are a nice size too!

For this card, I cut a piece of Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 7 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 3-1/2″ to create a slimline card base, and another piece 3-1/4 x 8-1/4″.

For the background I used the Simon Says Stamp BUILD A RAINBOW Stencil with Catherine Pooler Designs Samba, Limoncello, Lime Rickey, and Something Borrowed Inks to create rainbows. I used same stencil with Catherine Pooler Designs Oh Boy! Ink to create the sky.

I die cut the gnomes from the Springtime Gnome Die Set with Doodlebug Essentials 12 x 12 Lots o’ Luck Paper (I think the paper pack is discontinued), Stampin’ Up! Petal Pink 8-1/2″ X 11″ Cardstock, Simon Says Stamp 100lb Black Cardstock, Simon Says Stamp 100lb Green Apple Cardstock, Stampin’ Up! Cajun Craze 8-1/2″ X 11″ Cardstock, Tim Holtz Idea-ology 8 x 8 METALLIC KRAFT STOCK Paper Stash, Tim Holtz Idea-ology 8 x 8 METALLIC JEWELS KRAFT STOCK Paper Stash, and DCWV Single-Sided 4.5″ x 6.5″ Brights Mat Stack. And the pot of gold was die cut using Trinity Stamps Leprechaun Loot Die Set from Simon Says Stamp 100lb Black Cardstock and Tim Holtz Idea-ology 8 x 8 METALLIC KRAFT STOCK Paper Stash. And the clover in the leprechaun’s hands is from the Lawn Fawn Lucky Clovers.

I added a sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Sentiment Strips Lucky which I die cut from the DCWV Single-Sided 4.5″ x 6.5″ Brights Mat Stack.

On the inside of the card, I added a strip of pattern paper from Doodlebug Essentials 12 x 12 Lots o’ Luck Paper (same as on the gnome) measuring 1 x 3-1/2″ and stamped a sentiment from Lawn Fawn Happy Happy Happy Add-on with Catherine Pooler Designs Lime Rickey Ink.

Flat Shaker St. Patrick’s Day Card featuring Simon Says Stamp

Hello friends. Want to make a fun card for St. Patrick’s Day but short on time?!? This flat shaker card was super quick to make! I used the Flat Acetate Shaker Pouches from Trinity Stamps which made it so much easier.

For this card, I cut a piece of Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″ to create a card base, and another piece of Authentique Paper Emerald 6×6 Paper to 4-1/4 x 5-1/2″.

I used a Trinity Stamps A-2 Card Flat Acetate Shaker Pouches with double-sided tape to adhere to the back panel. I adhered 3 sides then filled it with different shaker bits. Then closed the fourth side and adhered it to the card base.

I die cut a sentiment using the Simon Says Stamp Fancy Lucky Wafer Dies from Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ (Lucky word) and Stampin’ Up! Garden Green 8-1/2″ X 11″ Cardstock (shadow). Also die cut some shamrocks from Stampin’ Up! Garden Green 8-1/2″ X 11″ Cardstock and Simon Says Stamp 100lb Green Leaf Cardstock using the Lawn Fawn Lucky Clovers. Finally I added a sentiment strip from the Simon Says Stamp Reverse Lucky Sentiment Strips.

Birthdays, Cards, Easter, St. Patrick's Day, Watercolor techniques

3 Easy Watercolor Cards

Hello friends. Here are some easy watercolor cards anyone can make! While I am an artist I am not super comfortable doing freehand watercolor paintings. But these 3 cards were very easy to make. If you cannot draw either use a stencil, die or printable to trace a simple drawing. I used this technique for one of my cards. More on this later…

For the first card, I cut a piece of Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″ to create a card base and a piece to Watercolor Paper to 3-3/4 x 5″. I also cut a piece of Doodlebug Dot Stripe Rainbow Petite Prints 6×6 Paper to 4-1/4 x 5-1/2″.

I did a quick sketch for the egg (I actually used an egg shaped framelit die to trace the outside). I used my Kuretake GANSAI TAMBI Watercolor Paint Set (I love this set!) to color the egg. I kept the coloring simple – one color and white. You can be as elaborate with your painting as you like though. Once the egg and grass were colored and dry, I added some splatters with some Zig Kuretake Gansai Tambi STARRY COLORS. Then I added some sketchy lines around the egg with a 0.5 Sakura Pigma Micron Fineliner Pen.

I used the Simon Says Stamp Foil Transfer Cards Fancy Happy Easter Splendor with Therm O Web Gina K Designs GLIMMERING GOLD Fancy Foil Deco Foil for the sentiment and fussycut it out. And then also used a sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp REVERSE EASTER WISHES Sentiment Strips.

On the inside of the card, I cut a strip of pattern a paper from Doodlebug Dot Stripe Rainbow Petite Prints 6×6 Paper to 1 x 4-1/4″. And added another sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp REVERSE EASTER WISHES Sentiment Strips.

Dimensions

For the second card, I cut a piece of Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″ to create a card base and a piece of Watercolor Paper to 4 x 5-1/4″.

While I do not have a picture of the sketch to show you, I just drew very basic shapes for the balloons. They don’t have to be perfect. If you feel like you cannot draw them, get an image from the internet etc and trace it or use stencils or dies. Again very simple painting here. This time I used one color plus a White Gold watercolor from the Zig Kuretake Gansai Tambi STARRY COLORS.

I added the balloon strings using my 0.5 Sakura Pigma Micron Fineliner Pen.

I stamped a sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Endless Birthday Wishes Stampset (retired) and Catherine Pooler Designs Midnight Ink. I finished off the card by adding some highlights to the balloons with a Uni-ball Signo White Broad Point Gel Pen and some Tonic Ebony Black Nuvo Drops.

On the inside of the card, I stamped a sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Biggest Wish (retired) with Catherine Pooler Designs Midnight Ink.

Dimensions

For the third card, I cut a piece of Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″ to create a card base, a piece to Watercolor Paper to 4 x 5-1/4″ and a piece of Tim Holtz Idea-ology 8 X 8 Paper Stash Metallic Kraft Stock. to 4-1/4 x 5-1/2″.

The sketch for this card was super simple. I drew 3 hearts and a stem. I used my Kuretake GANSAI TAMBI Watercolor Paint Set again. And finished the background by adding some splatters with White and Gold Acrylic paint.

I die cut the sentiment word from Tim Holtz Idea-ology 8 X 8 Paper Stash Metallic Kraft Stock using the Simon Says Stamp Fancy Lucky Wafer Dies. And added a sentiment strip from the Simon Says Stamp Reverse Lucky Sentiment Strips.

On the inside of the card, I added a strip of metallic paper cut to 1 x 4-1/4″ and stamped a sentiment from Happy Happy Happy Add-on with Catherine Pooler Designs Lime Rickey Ink.

Super Easy Technique! Creating a Shaker Background Using Shape Dies

Hello friends. St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner. Here is a fun way to make a shaker card. I used the Lawn Fawn Lucky Clovers dies to create windows for this fun shaker card background. This card also uses NO stamping. I know some folks out there don’t like stamping. It’s just not there thing so using dies will eliminate stamping.

For this card, I cut a piece of Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″ to create a card base. And second piece cut to 4-1/4 x 5-1/2″ which I then die cut out windows using the Lawn Fawn Lucky Clovers dies. I backed the panel with Acetate cut to the same size and added 3M Foam Tape around all the clovers. I added gold sequins, Martha Stewart Yellow Iridiscent Star Glitter and Queen and Company Yellow Diamond Toppings and backed the panel with a piece of patter paper from Authentique 6 x 6 Emerald Paper (discontinued) cut to 4-1/4 x 5-1/2″.

I die cut the sentiment from Authentique 6 x 6 Emerald Paper (discontinued) and 2x from Simon Says Stamp Cardstock 100# 8-1/2 x 11″ Black Cardstock using Stampin’ Up! Word Wished Dies (retired) and stacked them to give the sentiment dimension.

I finished off the card by adding some gold sequins from my stash.

On the inside of the card, I added clovers die cut from Authentique 6 x 6 Emerald Paper (discontinued) using the Lawn Fawn Lucky Clovers dies.

Watercolored Shaped Card: St. Patrick’s Day

Hello friends. I’m bringing out an oldie but goodie from Honey Bee Stamps to make this fun St. Patrick’s Day card. I used the Honey Bee Stamps Frappe Shaker Card (which I’ve used a ton because I truly love it!) and combined it with the Lawn Fawn Lucky Clovers to make a quick card. Who doesn’t love a green drink?!

For this card, I die cut a piece of Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ with the Honey Bee Stamps Frappe Shaker Card (I think it may discontinued) to create the card base. And a piece of Cold Press Watercolor Paper die for the top panel and the whip cream portion which I will be watercoloring.

I used my Kuretake Gansai Tambi 36 Watercolor Paints and Kuretake Gansai Tambi Starry Colors Watercolor to color the two pieces. I used a light and dark green as well as a light gold for the cup. And a white gold with a light gold for the whip cream.

I colored the cup lid part of the card base with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. Then die cut the lid from Acetate and the straw from Authentique 6 x 6 Emerald Paper (discontinued). I die cut the clover from Tim Holtz Idea-ology 8 x 8 Paper Stash METALLIC KRAFT STOCK using the Lawn Fawn Lucky Clovers.

I finished off the card by adding some gold sequins from my stash.

On the inside of the card, I added clovers die cut from Authentique 6 x 6 Emerald Paper (discontinued) using the Lawn Fawn Lucky Clovers dies.

I finished it off by adding some Nuvo Drop in Bright Gold and Sunlit Meadow.

On the inside of the card, I stamped Happy Happy Happy Add-on using Catherine Pooler Grass Skirt Ink and added a gold clover.

Stenciled Background St. Patrick’s Day Card

Simon Says Stamp and Scrapbook.com

Hello friends. Here’s a quick but very cute St. Patrick’s Day card featuring Simon Says Stamp’s Wooly Lucky Stampset (this came out last year I believe). It’s a very simple card with a subtle stenciled background. I love using stencils for backgrounds because it makes it so quick. And who’s got time to make complicated backgrounds these days?!? Not me.

For this card, I cut a piece of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″ to create the card base and a piece from Neenah 80lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 4-1/4 x 5-1/2″. I used the Scrapbook.com Shamrocks 6 x 8″ Stencil with Catherine Pooler Garden Party Ink to create the background. I die cut it with the largest dot die from Catherine Pooler’s Scallops & Dots Dies which measures 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″.

I stamped the llama and two rainbows from the Simon Says Stamp’s Wooly Lucky Stampset onto some Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ with Memento Tuxedo Black.

I colored the images with Copic colors. I used W0, W1 & 0, R20, & C7 for the llama; G07 & G09, C7 & C9, Y15 & Y17 for the hat and bow; YG03 for the shamrocks; YG03, YG17, G07, Y15 & Y17 for the blanket; R17 & R27, YR04 & YR07, YG17 & G07, B02 & B04, BV08 & BV17 for the rainbow; and BG000 & 0 for the clouds. I fussy cut all the images.

I stamped the sentiment from the from Lawn Fawn Hats Off to You Clear Stamps onto the card panel with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, then using my MISTI stamped over it with Versamark Ink, heat embossed it with Ranger CLEAR Embossing Powder.

Before adhereing the images to the card panel, I cut a piece of Tim Holtz Idea-ology 8 x 8 Paper Stash Metallic Jewels Kraft to 3-1/2 x 4-3/4″. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the llama.

I finished the card by adding Nuvo Crystal Drops – Metallic Bright Gold.

I left the inside of the card blank and just added two images I had previously stamped from the same stamp set.
