Gnome Birthday Card

Happy Sunday friends! Hope you are safe and having a good weekend. Today I am bringing you this card featuring the very cute gnomes from Simon Says Stamp Lil Gnome Wafer Dies. This die was included in the December 2019 card kit and but is great for Spring, Easter or any occassion cards! I paired them with some cute Lawn Fawn border dies to create a fun little Spring cards. This card is mostly ink blending and diecutting so if you don’t like stamping or coloring, this card is for you!

I started by cutting a piece of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″, one piece to 4 x 5-1/4” and two pieces of Simon Says Stamp Green Apple Card Stock 100# 8.5 x 11″ to 4 x 2 3/4″ and 4 x 1 7/8″. I diecut the edges of the Apple Green Cardstock pieces with the Lawn Fawn Grassy Border.

Card front

I used the My Favorite Things Mini Cloud Edges Mix-ables Stencil and Tim Holtz Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink and Tim Holtz Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink with my ink blenders to add clouds to the top 2/3 of the panel. Then I used Tim Holtz Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide Ink to add color to the grassy areas. Next I diecut two strips of Lawn Fawn Straight Flower Border Die from Simon Says Stamp Green Apple Card Stock 100# 8.5 x 11″ and the flowers from Stampin’ Up! Real Red 8-1/2″ X 11″ Cardstock and Stampin’ Up! Elegant Eggplant Cardstock 8.5 x 11″ (retired), as well as some yellow scraps from my stash for the flower centers. I adhered the flowers to the flower border strips and those to the back of the grassy border pieces.

I diecut two gnomes with the Simon Says Stamp Lil Gnome Wafer Dies. I used pink plaid paper from Lawn Fawn 6×6 Perfectly Plaid Spring Petite Paper Pack and the purple pattern paper from the Really Rainbow Petite Paper Pack for the bodies, Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ for the nose, beard and background and pink scrap and Stampin’ Up! Elegant Eggplant Cardstock 8.5 x 11″ (retired) for the hats.

I assembled the two gnomes and moved on to assembling the card. I adhered the sky background to the card base and the added the back grassy border to the card with glue and the front grassy border with 3M Foam Tape. I added the gnomes to the card, adhering one with glue and one with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped “Happy Birthday” from the Lawn Fawn Oh Gnome! stampset with Versamark Ink onto a piece of Stampin’ Up! Elegant Eggplant Cardstock 8.5 x 11″ (retired) and added WOW Embossing Powder Opaque Bright White. I trimmed it down to 1/2 x 2-1/2″ and adhered it to the card front with 3M Foam Tape. To finish it off, I added Tonic White Blizzard Nuvo Glitter Drops.

On the inside of the card, I stamped another greeting from the Lawn Fawn Oh Gnome! stampset in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and added some tulips that were left over from the front of the card. And that completes this card.

Happy Birthday Watercolor Card Featuring Simon Says Stamp’s Stronger Together March Card Kit

Happy Hump Day friends! Here’s another quick card using the Simon Says Stamp’s Stronger Together March Card Kit. I’ve been having fun watercoloring with the pencils included in the kit. The quality of the pencils is not bad. You have more control with pencils than you do with traditional watercolors so it’s definitely a great option for folks (like me) who are not great at watercoloring. My colors tend to run into each other. Anyone else have this issue??

This kit includes:

Simon Says Stamp Exclusive Bold Hello wafer thin die
ModaScrap Spring Flowers 6 x 6 paper pack

3 Suzy Plantamura custom floral watercolor cards
Simon Says Stamp 6 x 6 inch glitter paper
Simon Says Stamp Metallic Lavender envelope
Simon Says Stamp Mint envelope
Simon Says Stamp White envelope

Simon Says Stamp Lavender 8.5×11 cardstock
Simon Says Stamp Cornflower Blue 8.5×11 cardstock
Simon Says Stamp White 120# 8.5×11 cardstock

I started by cutting a piece Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″ for the card base. I then used the 24 piece watercolor pencil pack and watercolor brushes to color one of the Suzy Plantamura custom floral watercolor cards. Once everything was dry, I cut the panel down to 4 x 5-1/4″ and adhered it to the card base with Simon Says Stamp Craft Tacky Glue. For the sentiment I diecut “happy” using the Donut Worry Honey Cuts Dies from Simon Says Stamp Card Stock 100# BLACK and stamped “birthday” from Lawn Fawn’s happy happy happy stampset onto a piece Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and cut it down to 1-5/16″ x 3/16″. I adhered it to the card panel with 3M Foam Tape to pop it up.

I finished off this card by adding some sparkle to the flower petals with a Spectrum Noir Sparkle Fine Glitter Brush Pen and added Nuvo LIMONCELLO Jewel Drops to the flower centers and SIMPLY GLOSS WHITE Nuvo Crystal Drops around the card.

Good Vibes Card

Hello friends. I think it’s time for a fun and cheerful card. In this uncertain and scary times, it’s nice to send others a little cheer in the form of a card. Also the creative outlet relieves stress; it’s a win win. So if you are finding yourself stressed and worried right now, do something fun, make something, draw something, or just talk to someone. Distractions and connections are super important right now.

This cute card features Simon Says Stamp Good Vibes Stampset which is unfortunately no longer available and was released during Simon Says Stamp’s Stamptember release.

I started by cutting a piece of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″ for the card base and a piece of Canson Montval Acid-Free Cold Press Watercolor Paper, 140 lb, 18 X 24 in, Natural White to 4 x 5-1/4″ for the card front. Then used Distress Oxide Inks to create a background. I used Candied Apple Tim Holtz Distress Oxides Ink, Squeezed Lemonade Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink, Salty Ocean Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink, and Seedless Preserves Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink. I sprayed some water with the Tim Holtz Distress Sprayer and dried it with some paper towel.

Next, I prepped my card panel with Ranger Ink – Anti-Static Pouch. I stamped the peace sign with all over the background with Versamark Ink and added WOW Opaque Bright White Super Fine Embossing Powder and heat set that with my heat gun. I rounded the bottom corners of the card base and card panel with my We R Memory Keepers – Crop-A-Dile – Corner Chomper Tool and adhered the panel to the card base.

I stamped the cute character with outstretched arms and the greeting “Today Is the Greatest” onto Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I added a little bit of shadowing and some pink cheeks with copic markers. I fussycut it out and added it to the card panel with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. I finished it off with some Nuvo Crystal Drops in Gloss Simply White.

Card Inside

On the inside of the card, I stamped ” Be Happy” with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink as well as the peace sign with Catherine Pooler Designs Rockin Red Ink, Catherine Pooler Designs Tiara Ink, Catherine Pooler Designs Orange Twist Ink, Catherine Pooler Designs Lime Rickey Ink, Catherine Pooler Designs All That Jazz Ink, Catherine Pooler Designs Suede Shoes Ink, and Catherine Pooler Designs Royal Treatment Ink. And that completes this card.

Rainbow Birthday Card featuring Simon Says Stamp Trio Window Die

Hi friends. This fun and colorful card was made using the Simon Says Stamp Exclusive Trio Window Wafer Die and Simon Says Stamp Exclusive 6×8 Inch Window Frames clear stamp set included in the Simon Says Stamp February 2020 Card Kit. All the items from the kit are sold seperately so no need to fret if you don’t have the kit.

I started by cutting a piece of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″ to create a card base. Then I cut another piece of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 4 x 5-1/4” to create top panel.

I diecut the trio window using the Simon Says Stamp Exclusive Trio Window Wafer Die from the top panel, offsetting it from the center slightly.

I stamped the balloon border from the Simon Says Stamp Exclusive 6×8 Inch Window Frames clear stamp set around the windows and also some extra balloons with the additional balloon and string stamp included in the stampset using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. To stamp balloons that look like they are behind the balloons around the windows, I stamped the balloon border on to Masking Paper, fussycut it out, and placed it over the balloon border image before stamping additional balloons. I stamped some of the confetti pieces around the card to fill up the white space. I wanted this card to look like a party on paper!

I also stamped some balloons in the inside of the windows so it looks like balloons continue on the inside. To do this, I just lined up the stamp on the card panel using my Tim Holtz Tonic Craft Travel Stamp Platform, removed the top panel, and stamped in the card base. I also stamped additional balloons onto scraps of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″, which I will pop up later with foam squares.

Before I started coloring all the images, I stamped some of the tiny sentiments in between the windows using the same Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (COPIC-friendly ink). I used COPICS in R17 and R27, R81 and R85, YR12 and YR16, Y06 and Y18, G07 and G14, BG000 and BG01, B95 and B37, and V06 and V09. Not gonna lie, this took a long time to color but I usually just watch a movie or Youtube videos while doing it so it makes it more fun. Once colored I all the images, I adhered the panel to the card base with 3M Foam Tape and used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhered some of the additional balloons.

Closeup

Lastly, I stamped the “happy birthday” sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Exclusive 6×8 Inch Window Frames clear stamp set onto a scrap of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ and fussycut it out, separating the two words. I also used white alphabet stickers from my stash for the “50”. Since they were white I colored them with a black marker and addded them to the card in the middle window. If you have black Alphabet stickers that you like and fit inside the window, you can use those. I finished off the card by adding some highlights with my White Uni-Ball UM 153 Signo Broad Point Gel Pen and some splatters with Craft Smart Acrylic Paint in Black. And of course, no card is complete without some Nuvo Drops. I used Tonic Nuvo Crystal Drops in Ebony Black. It’s now a fun and colorful rainbow card. Doesn’t it just scream “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!?!”
