Hello friends. In honor of Pride month I made these two rainbow cards using the Catherine Pooler Designs Retro Love Dies. This die produces a very cool sentiment that allows you to use the word by itself, with the shadow or even cut out an outline of the word. You can also use it to create shaker cards.
For this first card, I cut a piece of Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″ to create a card base, as well as another piece cut to 4 x 5-1/4″. I added double sided tape to the panel and then cut 1/2 inch strips of colored paper from DCWV Double-Sided Mat Stack 4.5″X6.5″ Brights (may be discontinued – link to similar stack below), Stampin’ Up! Pacific Point 8-1/2 x 11″ Cardstock (retired), and Stampin’ Up! Highland Heather 8-1/2 x 11″ Cardstock.
I trimmed the excess paper and die cut the word “LOVE” from the center of the card. I die cut the word 3x more from Simon Says Stamp 100# Black Cardstock so I can stack them and create dimension and added a piece of the black cardstock behind it.
For the second card, I cut a piece of Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″ to create a card base. Then cut a piece of pattern paper from Catherine Pooler Designs Black Tie Gala 6 x 6 Paper (discontinued) to 2-1/2 x 4-1/4″. I also cut a piece of Simon Says Stamp 100# Black Cardstock to 1-3/16 x 5-1/2″ for the sentiment.

Hello crafty people. I decided to challenge myself to see how many different ways I can use one background die. I chose the Honey Bee Stamps Plaid A7 Base Cover Plate and Plaid A7 Cover Top Plate which I bought during the holidays but only got to use once. I used it as it was intended for one card, a focal image and an embellishment.
I stamped the butterflies, sentiment and trails from the Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Day stampset (Unfortunately no longer available but any butterfly stamps will do). I colored the images with Copic Markers. I used R17 + R27, R81 + R83, YR09 + YR16, Y13 + Y18, YG17 + YG45, BG000 + B01, V06 + V09, and B24 + B26.
I don’t have the dies for this stampset so I fussycut the images and sentiment. I adhered the sentiment to the card using Tombow Mono Multi Glue and the butterflies with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I finished it off by adding Nuvo Drops in Ivory Seashell. I left the inside blank. It was a super easy card to create. The only slightly time consuming thing was coloring the images but that didn’t take that long either. I love how the rainbow butterflies look against the white background!
For the second card, I started by again cutting a piece of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock to 7 x 10″ and scored at 5″ to create the card base. I cut a piece of pattern paper from Doodlebug Designs 12 x 12 Milk and Cookies Paper (unavailable) and adhered it to the card base.
I used Stampin’ Up!’s Coffee Cafe Stamp & Die Bundle (retired) and Stampin’ Up!’s Fruit Basket stampset (retired) and Itty BItty Fruit Punch Pack (retired). I diecut the cup, the cupcake wrapper, two whipped creams and label from Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock, the lid from Vellum and the straw from pattern paper (Echo Park Spring Dots andSTRIPES 6 x 6 Paper Pad-discontinued).
On the inside of the card, I diecut another sentiment using the Honey Bee Stamps Donut Worry Dies (recently retired) from Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ and adhered it to the card.

In today’s tutorial, I am making slimline cards. I’ve seen these popping up all over instagram and youtube and I figured I would make one too ( I mean… I have to right?!? 🙂 LOL). Since I do not have any slimline dies yet (I stress YET), I will prove you can make them with any supplies you have in your stash and no dies necessary. Even the envelope tutorial I found on YouTube makes it super simple to make a slimeline envelope.
On the inside of the card, I adhered the leftover pieces of the balloons on the front of the card to the top portion and stamped ‘Happy Birthday! using the free gift stamp I received from Lawn Fawn for my birthday month and Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Yes! you can get freebies for your birthday! 🙂 I couldn’t find this anywhere so I don’t think this particular tiny sentiment stamp can be purchased but there are a ton of other Lawn Fawn Happy Birthday stamps you can use.
Balloon Birthday Inside
I also made an envelope using Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″. I found a great tutorial on Youtube from Jenny Card Designs. She also provides a facebook link with the template. I added some more of the vellum balloons to the edge of the envelope. Go check her out on Youtube!
For the second card, I decided to make some summer fruity cards. I started by cutting a piece of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 7 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 3-1/2″ to create the card base. Next, I cut two pieces of green gingham pattern paper from Brutus Monroe Fresh Melon 6 x 6 Paper Pad to 3-1/2 x 6 and adhered it to the card using Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue. I made sure to have the section where the two pieces meet to not be centered so it can be covered by the watermelon slice.
And since lemon cards are all the rage right now. I decided to break out my lemon stampset and builder punch from Stampin’ Up!. I began this card by I started by cutting a piece of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 7 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 3-1/2″ to create the card base. Next, I cut a piece of pattern paper from Brutus Monroe Fresh Squeeze 6 x 6 Paper Pad to 1-1/2 x 8-1/2″and adhered it to the bottom of the card front.
And again I made an envelope using some dark pink cardstock from my stash (not sure where it is from becasue it is soooo old). Tutorial on Youtube from Jenny Card Designs.

These bright and cheerful cards were made using the Catherine Pooler Designs Make Lemonade Stampset (Out of stock-maybe discontinued). It was a limited release in March, I believe. It’s a tiny stampset but was super fun to color. I made one of them into a shaker (a tiny shaker:)).
Next, I colored the image with COPICS. I used BG000 + 0 for the bottle; Y11 +Y06 + Y13 for the lemons; Y11 +Y06 + Y13 + Y15 for the sliced lemon; YG06 + YG07 for the leaves; RV09 and Y06 + Y15 for the straw; RV10 + RV11 + RV14 for the flowers. I stamped the bubbles with Catherine Pooler Designs It’s A Boy Ink. I fussycut the image out.
I stamped the image onto a scrap of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and set it aside to dry. I colored it with COPICS. I used Y13 + YG03 + YG01 + YG25 for the lime on the left; B0000 + 0 for the bottle; YR16 + YR18 and YG03 + YG25 for the straw; Y06 + Y18, R81 + R85, and V25 + BV17 for the flowers; and YG06 + G07 for the leaves .

I added a piece of acetate behind the shaker window in the bottle, some 3M Foam Tape, and some flat clear sequins from my stash added it to the card. I finished it off by adding some Nuvo Sea Breeze Jewel Drops around the card.
On the inside of the card, I cut out a panel of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 3-1/2″ x 4-3/4″ and a left over piece of the pattern paper to 3/4 x 3-1/2″ and adhered it to the bottom of the panel, then rounded the corners before adhereing it to the card base.

Hello friends. I finally got to play with this adorable bee-themed card kit from Simon Says Stamps. It’s the July Card Kit called Bee Yourself. Lots of fun products to play with and I just adore the stampset. Unfortunately the kit is no longer available but I will link all the available individual products. I almost strictly used only the card kit contents. I did bring in a few of my own products and I will link those below as well.
Card Kit Supplies
When I first saw the reveal video for this kit, I fell for the paper pad from Honeybee Stamps immediately. I knew I had to use the aqua watercolor pattern first. I kept it simple. I wanted to see if I could foil using a stamp and the glue pad and a stamp (didn’t have transfer gel. I do NOW though 🙂 ).
I diecut a few hexagons from Simon Says Stamp Black cardstock using the Simon Says Stamp Small Hexagon Cluster wafer thin die and a few from some black glitter paper. I added the black hexagon cluster to the card and then inlayed 3 glitter hexagons back into the clusters. I added a black mat behind the sentiment. Then I adhered the flower onto the right side of the card and the sentiment toward the bottom. I adhered the little bees and added some sequins to finish off the card.
Another paper that I really like for this collection was the black and white wonky (technical term :)) striped one. Another thing I wanted to use was the foilable cards. And the rainbow one of course calls for rainbow foil (duh). I only foiled the rainbow itself and the little bees so that they would stand out. I fussycut around the images and words, leaving a white border around them. I chose the yellow polka dotted pattern paper from the paper pad as my background. I cut a piece to 3 1/4 x 5 1/2”. I adhered a strip of the black and white wonky stripe paper onto and A2 sized card base (Simon Says Stamp Sunshine cardstock), leaving a 1/4 inch on each side, and adhered the yellow polka dot one in the center over that piece. I added some thin Love From Lizi Pin Stripe Black Glitter Peel Offs to separate the patterns a bit. I love the peel offs from Love From Lizi! They add interest to your card with little effort and she sells soooo many colors (glitter, metallic, transparent). Super fun.
Anyways back to my card…
I adhered the images down onto the card and added some sequins from the included pack. To finish off the inside I cut a piece of Simon Says Stamp White 120# cardstock to 4 x 5 1/4” and adhered inside the card. I added a 1 x 5 1/4” strip of the yellow polka dotted paper and a 1/2 x 5 1/4” strip of the black and white wonky striped paper to the right side of that panel. And stamped the “JUST bee-cause” sentiment in Ranger Black Archival Jet Black. And this completes card #4.
While I was making these cards, I had a thought…how cute would the bees look on a tag??? So I got out my trusty tag die from Tim Holtz (Sizzix Framelit Dies – Tag Collection by Tim Holtz) and diecut 2 tags using the second to largest die from Simon Says Stamp Black cardstock. I chose two pattern papers for my backgrounds, the light wood grain and the black and aqua hexagons, diecut 2 of each of those and glued them onto the front and back of the tag. Then I got to distressing.
I don’t want to leave this tag just as is though. I thought it might look cute as a card instead. So I cut a piece of the yellow hexagon paper to 1-1/4 x 5 1/2” and a piece of the yellow polka dot paper to -1 x 5 1/2” and adhere it to the.back of the hexagon paper and adhered both to an A2 sized card base (Simon Says Stamp Black cardstock).
I adhered the tag to the card base on a slight angle, placing it over the edges.i trimmed off the excess and proceeded to diecut some more hexagon clusters with black cardstock and adhered them to the card. I added one on the black. paper so it looks like it’s embossed. I added three little bees and some sequins to complete this card.

Hello friends, I’m coming at you today with this cute and simple froggy card using Stampin’ Up!’s SO HOPPY TOGETHER Stamp Set. I’ve had this stampset for awhile and just got around to making some cards. It was part of the Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration 2019 catalog so unfortunately is no longer available but I still wanted to present some inspiration for those of you who have this stampset. And if you don’t have the stampset you can easily substitute another critter for the frogs. And if you want to own any of these cards they are both available for sale in my Etsy shop.
Celebrate Your Awesomeness Card
For this card I kept things simple. I cut a card base to 8 1/2 x 5 1/2” from Neenah Solar White 110lb Cardstock and scored it at 4 1/4”. Then cut and adhered a panel measuring 4 1/4 x 5 1/2” and a Strip to 1 3/4 x 5 1/2” from Queen and Company Flirty Florals Paper Pad to the card base. Using a paper pad is a great way to ensure that all your pattern papers coordinate. No guessing necessary.
I figured out the placement of all the images and sentiments on the card and adhered. Finished it off with some Nuvo drops in Key Lime, Purple Rain and Sea Breeze. I also stamped the froggy image on a white envelope.
I had already stamped and colored the images prior to starting this card. If I know I’m making multiple cards using the same stamp set, I like to stamp and color all the images I need (or just a bunch of I’m not sure what I want to use) before I create my cards. I will fussycut them just before I begin the cardmaking process. Onto the next step then…
I used some Neenah Solar White 110lb Cardstock and used the direct-to-paper method to color with Catherine Pooler Fiesta Blue Ink. This method is a great way to match your cardstock to your project. If you want to see this technique in action check out this video from Catherine Pooler.
Next I diecut the word “HOPPY” with the Honey Bee Bee Bold Alphabet Dies. I also cut two additional sets of the word from Neenah Solar White 110lb Cardstock. I stacked the two white sets together and adhered, followed by the colored set of letters on top of those.
