Two Cards Using One Die: No Waste

Hello friends. In honor of Pride month I made these two rainbow cards using the Catherine Pooler Designs Retro Love Dies. This die produces a very cool sentiment that allows you to use the word by itself, with the shadow or even cut out an outline of the word. You can also use it to create shaker cards.

For this first card, I cut a piece of Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″ to create a card base, as well as another piece cut to 4 x 5-1/4″. I added double sided tape to the panel and then cut 1/2 inch strips of colored paper from DCWV Double-Sided Mat Stack 4.5″X6.5″ Brights (may be discontinued – link to similar stack below), Stampin’ Up! Pacific Point 8-1/2 x 11″ Cardstock (retired), and Stampin’ Up! Highland Heather 8-1/2 x 11″ Cardstock.

I trimmed the excess paper and die cut the word “LOVE” from the center of the card. I die cut the word 3x more from Simon Says Stamp 100# Black Cardstock so I can stack them and create dimension and added a piece of the black cardstock behind it.

I stamped the a sentiment from Honey Bee Stamps Autumn Buzzword stamps (retired) onto some Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ with Catherine Pooler Designs Midnight Ink and trimmed it down to 1/2 x 4 x 5-1/4″. Before adhering it to the card I added some Love From Lizi Silver Glitter Pin Stripe Peel-offs.

I finished off the card by adding some Pretty Pink Posh PLATINUM Pearls.

I left the inside of the card blank.

Dimensions

For the second card, I cut a piece of Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″ to create a card base. Then cut a piece of pattern paper from Catherine Pooler Designs Black Tie Gala 6 x 6 Paper (discontinued) to 2-1/2 x 4-1/4″. I also cut a piece of Simon Says Stamp 100# Black Cardstock to 1-3/16 x 5-1/2″ for the sentiment.

When I die cut the word “LOVE” and the shadow from the center of the previous rainbow panel, it left me with an outline which I will use for this card. I die cut the shadow from Silver Glitter Cardstock. I then stamped the sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Simply Sentiments Stampset with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with Wow White Embossing Powder.

I finished off the card by adding some Smooth Silver Sequin Discs.

On the inside of the card, I cut a piece of the same pattern paper blank to 1 x 5-1/2″.

Celebrations, Hello, Just Because, Love & Friendship

Stretching Your Background Dies featuring Honey Bee Stamps Dies

Hello crafty people. I decided to challenge myself to see how many different ways I can use one background die. I chose the Honey Bee Stamps Plaid A7 Base Cover Plate and Plaid A7 Cover Top Plate which I bought during the holidays but only got to use once. I used it as it was intended for one card, a focal image and an embellishment.

For the first card, I started by cutting a piece of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock to 7 x 10″ and scored at 5″ to create the card base. I also diecut the Honey Bee Stamps Plaid A7 Base Cover Plate and Plaid A7 Cover Top Plate and adhered them to the card base.

I stamped the butterflies, sentiment and trails from the Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Day stampset (Unfortunately no longer available but any butterfly stamps will do). I colored the images with Copic Markers. I used R17 + R27, R81 + R83, YR09 + YR16, Y13 + Y18, YG17 + YG45, BG000 + B01, V06 + V09, and B24 + B26.

I don’t have the dies for this stampset so I fussycut the images and sentiment. I adhered the sentiment to the card using Tombow Mono Multi Glue and the butterflies with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I finished it off by adding Nuvo Drops in Ivory Seashell. I left the inside blank. It was a super easy card to create. The only slightly time consuming thing was coloring the images but that didn’t take that long either. I love how the rainbow butterflies look against the white background!

Dimensions

For the second card, I started by again cutting a piece of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock to 7 x 10″ and scored at 5″ to create the card base. I cut a piece of pattern paper from Doodlebug Designs 12 x 12 Milk and Cookies Paper (unavailable) and adhered it to the card base.

I diecut two 2-1/4″ circles from Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock and one from Vellum. I ran the two white circles through my diecut machine with the Honey Bee Stamps Plaid A7 Base Cover Plate and Plaid A7 Cover Top Plate and adhered all three circles together.

I used Stampin’ Up!’s Coffee Cafe Stamp & Die Bundle (retired) and Stampin’ Up!’s Fruit Basket stampset (retired) and Itty BItty Fruit Punch Pack (retired). I diecut the cup, the cupcake wrapper, two whipped creams and label from Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock, the lid from Vellum and the straw from pattern paper (Echo Park Spring Dots andSTRIPES 6 x 6 Paper Pad-discontinued).

I inked the cup with Tim Holtz SPUN SUGAR and PICKED RASPBERRY Distress Ink and the cupcake wrapper with GROUND ESPRESSO Distress Ink and I added some colore around the edges of the cupckae label with Catherine Pooler Lime Rickey Ink. I added shading to whipped cream with Copic Marker C1 + 0 and R81 and 0 and some sprinkles with the Ground Espresso Distress Marker.

I stamped the ince cubes from the Stampin’ Up! Coffee Cafe Stampset with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock, colored with R81, BG000 + 0 Copic Markers and cut with the coodinating dies. I stamped the strawberries from Stampin’ Up!’s Fruit Basket stampset (retired) with Catherine Pooler Lime Rickey Ink and Catherine Pooler Samba Ink onto Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock and Itty BItty Fruit Punch Pack (retired) to punch them out.

I stamped the sentiment from Honey Bee Shake-It-Off Stamp Set (unavailable) onto Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock with Catherine Pooler Lime Rickey Ink and fussycut it out.

I finished it off by adding Ranger GLOSSY ACCENTS Glue Dimensional Adhesive to the ice cubes. I left the inside blank.

Dimensions

For the third card, I used the Honey Bee Stamps Donut Card Die (retired) with Catherine Pooler Sand Dunes 8-1/2 x 11″ Cardstock (unavailable) to create the card base. I used Lawn Fawn Guava 8-1/2 x 11″ Cardstock to diecut the icing and then diecut a another donut piece with Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ then used the Honey Bee Stamps Plaid A7 Base Cover to turn that donut shape into the donut glaze. I inked the edges of all the donut pieces using Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink and adhered them.

I diecut the sentiment from Stampin’ Up!’s Early Espresso 8-1/2″ X 11″ Cardstock using Honey Bee Stamps Donut Worry Dies (recently retired). You can also use the Donut Worry 4×4 Stamp Set (retiring soon). I diecut the sentiment shadow from Catherine Pooler Sand Dunes 8-1/2 x 11″ Cardstock (unavailable) added Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink and adhered them to the card.

On the inside of the card, I diecut another sentiment using the Honey Bee Stamps Donut Worry Dies (recently retired) from Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ and adhered it to the card.

Shop Your Stash Day 2: Slimline Cards

In today’s tutorial, I am making slimline cards. I’ve seen these popping up all over instagram and youtube and I figured I would make one too ( I mean… I have to right?!? 🙂 LOL). Since I do not have any slimline dies yet (I stress YET), I will prove you can make them with any supplies you have in your stash and no dies necessary. Even the envelope tutorial I found on YouTube makes it super simple to make a slimeline envelope.

For this first card, I began by cutting a piece of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 7 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 3-1/2″. Then I diecut 3 balloons from Paper Accents Vellum Variety Pack 8 1/2 x 11 in. Assorted 25 pc. using the Lifestyle Crafts Quickutz Nesting Balloons (Dies). I adhered the bottom halves to the card, overlapping them. I used Tonic Medium Nuvo Glue Pen to adhere them and cut off the excess.

Balloon Birthday Front

I stamped a sentiment from Catherine Pooler Designs WooHoo Stamp Set onto a scrap of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and fussycut it out. I adhered it using Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue. I embellished it by adding some string and bows to the balloons using my Micron 05 Pen, shimmer with the Spectrum Noir Sparkle Clear Fine Glitter Brush Pen and also added some Tonic Gloss Simply White Nuvo Crystal Drops and Tonic Gloss Midnight Blue Nuvo Crystal Drops to the balloons.

On the inside of the card, I adhered the leftover pieces of the balloons on the front of the card to the top portion and stamped ‘Happy Birthday! using the free gift stamp I received from Lawn Fawn for my birthday month and Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Yes! you can get freebies for your birthday! 🙂 I couldn’t find this anywhere so I don’t think this particular tiny sentiment stamp can be purchased but there are a ton of other Lawn Fawn Happy Birthday stamps you can use.

Balloon Birthday Inside

I also made an envelope using Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″. I found a great tutorial on Youtube from Jenny Card Designs. She also provides a facebook link with the template. I added some more of the vellum balloons to the edge of the envelope. Go check her out on Youtube!

For the second card, I decided to make some summer fruity cards. I started by cutting a piece of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 7 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 3-1/2″ to create the card base. Next, I cut two pieces of green gingham pattern paper from Brutus Monroe Fresh Melon 6 x 6 Paper Pad to 3-1/2 x 6 and adhered it to the card using Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue. I made sure to have the section where the two pieces meet to not be centered so it can be covered by the watermelon slice.

Watermelon Slice Card Front

Next, I moved on to creating my watermelon slice (wedge?). For this I cut a large triangle from Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ that was a bit taller than my card front then using the a 5-1/2″ circle die from Simon Says Stamp NESTED CIRCLES Wafer Dies cut the edge of the wider part. To create the rind and white pith (I think that’s what it is called), I used the 5″ and 5-1/2″ circle dies to cut out a half circle from a piece of the green gingham pattern paper from Brutus Monroe Fresh Melon 6 x 6 Paper Pad and the 4-1/2″ and 5-1/2″ circle dies to to cut out a half circle from a piece of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″.

I added Tim Holtz Twisted Citron Distress Ink to the pith and sprayed it with water with my Tim Holtz DISTRESS SPRAYER. Then added Tim Holtz Candied Apple Distressed Ink and Festive Berries Distressed Ink to the watermelon wedge. I leftit very light towards the wider side and then sprayed water on it as well. Once the inks were dried, I adhered all three pieces to create my watermelon wedge and adhered it to the card base, trimming off any excess at the bottom. I drew on some seeds with my Sakura Pigma Micron 08 Pen and added some highlights to them with Uni-Ball Signo White Broad Point Gel Pen.

Watermelon Slice Card Closeup

For my sentiment, I used Lawn Fawn’s Baked With Love Stampset, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and my Stampin’ Up! Stamparatus to stamp it on a curve. The easiest way to do this, I have found is to curve the text around the circle die I used for the watermelon.

To finish off this card, I added Love From Lizi Red Glitter Pinstripe peel-offs and Nuvo Drops in Autum Red. I left the inside of the card blank for this one. And again I made an envelope using Stampin Up! Real Red 8-1/2″ X 11″ Cardstock. Tutorial on Youtube from Jenny Card Designs.

And since lemon cards are all the rage right now. I decided to break out my lemon stampset and builder punch from Stampin’ Up!. I began this card by I started by cutting a piece of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 7 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 3-1/2″ to create the card base. Next, I cut a piece of pattern paper from Brutus Monroe Fresh Squeeze 6 x 6 Paper Pad to 1-1/2 x 8-1/2″and adhered it to the bottom of the card front.

One of A Kind Card Front

Next, using the Stampin’ Up! Lemon Zest Clear-Mount Stamp Set (which was retired recently), I stamped several lemon slices and whole lemons onto Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ with Catherine Pooler Designs Limoncello Ink, one slice with Catherine Pooler Designs Party Dress and Catherine Pooler Designs Bellini Inks, and several leaved with Catherine Pooler Designs Lime Rickey Ink. I used the Stampin’ Up! Lemon Builder Punch (retred) and a 1-3/4″ Circle Punch to cut out the leaves and lemons.

I arranged them on the card front and adhered them, popping some up with 3M Foam Tape. I added some highlights to them with Uni-Ball Signo White Broad Point Gel Pen.

For the sentiment I used the Honey Bee Stamps BEE-YOU-TIFUL Sentiments stampset. I used Tsukineko Versamark EMBOSS INK PAD and WOW OPAQUE BRIGHT WHITE Super Fine Embossing Powder to heat emboss it onto a piece of Simon Says Stamp 100# Black Card Stock and then cut it down to 1/2 x 2-3/8″. I adhered it to the top portion fo teh card and then stamped the word “K-I-N-D” with Simon Says Stamp Grid Play Alphas stampset (no longer available) and Catherine Pooler Designs Midnight Ink onto some Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ and adhered those on top the lemons. I added some Ranger Glossy Accents Glue Dimensional Adhesive to those letters to finish off the card.

And again I made an envelope using some dark pink cardstock from my stash (not sure where it is from becasue it is soooo old). Tutorial on Youtube from Jenny Card Designs.

When Life Gives You Lemons Make Lemonade…

Hello friends. Hope you are all safe and healthy. And if you are struggling to cope with everything going on in our world right now, hang in there because ‘this too shall pass’. Speaking of old adages, “When Life Gives You Lemons Make Lemonade” is very fitting for these times we are in as well. While it’s very easy to focus on the scary and sad stuff going on, we have to find the bright spots too — the healthcare workers saving lives, families coming together, babies being born, spending time with our pets (one of my faves right now)…

These bright and cheerful cards were made using the Catherine Pooler Designs Make Lemonade Stampset (Out of stock-maybe discontinued). It was a limited release in March, I believe. It’s a tiny stampset but was super fun to color. I made one of them into a shaker (a tiny shaker:)).

For the first card, I began by cutting a piece of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4. I stamped the image onto a scrap of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and set it aside to dry.

I stamped the flower outline from the stampset with Catherine Pooler Designs Limoncello Ink onto the card base. Next, I diecut another piece with Catherine Pooler Designs Composition Label Dies and then used a direct-to-paper technique to add color with Catherine Pooler Designs Party Dress Ink Pad. I adhered the label shape to the pink cardstock and trimmed around, leaving a border.

Next, I colored the image with COPICS. I used BG000 + 0 for the bottle; Y11 +Y06 + Y13 for the lemons; Y11 +Y06 + Y13 + Y15 for the sliced lemon; YG06 + YG07 for the leaves; RV09 and Y06 + Y15 for the straw; RV10 + RV11 + RV14 for the flowers. I stamped the bubbles with Catherine Pooler Designs It’s A Boy Ink. I fussycut the image out.

I stamped the sentiment onto the top left corner of the label shape with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I adhered the image to the label with Tombow Mono Liquid Glue and popped up the whole thing with 3M Foam Tape. I finished off the card by adding dots of Nuvo Sea Breeze Jewel Drops to simulate bubbles, Nuvo Ebony Black Crystal Drops and some Nuvo Dandelion Yellow Crystal Drops around the tag.

Card Inside

I kept the inside of the card very simple. I stamped the image with the Catherine Pooler Designs Limoncello Ink.

For the second card, I decided to make a shaker card. I love shaker cards, even if they are a bit of a pain to mail. They are just fun to make and shake! I started by cutting a piece of Simon Says Stamp 100lb Orange Peel, 8-1/2 x 11″ Cardstock to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″ to make a card base. Next, I cut a piece of Catherine Pooler Designs – 6 x 6 Patterned Paper – Black Tie Gala to 3-1/2 x 4-3/4″ and rounded the corners of that panel and the card base with my We R Memory 1/4 & 1/2″ Crop-A-Dile Corner Chomper. I also colored the paper with Catherine Pooler Designs Lime Rickey Ink and adhered it to the card base.

I diecut a piece of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ with the Catherine Pooler Designs Sprinkles Mini Cover Plate Die, I stamped the sentiment from the stampset onto the smallest white rectangle and adhered it to the card.

I stamped the image onto a scrap of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and set it aside to dry. I colored it with COPICS. I used Y13 + YG03 + YG01 + YG25 for the lime on the left; B0000 + 0 for the bottle; YR16 + YR18 and YG03 + YG25 for the straw; Y06 + Y18, R81 + R85, and V25 + BV17 for the flowers; and YG06 + G07 for the leaves .

I fussycut out the image and also cut the center of the bottle with a craft knife. I diecut a piece of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ with the

For the second card, I decided to make a shaker card. I love shaker cards, even if they are a bit of a pain to mail. They are just fun to make and shake! I started by cutting a piece of Simon Says Stamp 100lb Orange Peel, 8-1/2 x 11″ Cardstock to 5 x 7-5/8″ and scored at 3-13/16″ to make a card base. I diecut a piece of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ with the Catherine Pooler Designs Sprinkles Mini Cover Plate Die. I used Catherine Pooler Designs It’s A Boy Ink and an ink blender tool to add color to the panel. I used a very light hand to make it very pale blue. I cut it down to a size that would fit the window in the bottle. Then I also ink blended and other piece of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ and adhered it behind the piece that I previously diecut and ink blended.

I added a piece of acetate behind the shaker window in the bottle, some 3M Foam Tape, and some flat clear sequins from my stash added it to the card. I finished it off by adding some Nuvo Sea Breeze Jewel Drops around the card.

On the inside of the card, I cut out a panel of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 3-1/2″ x 4-3/4″ and a left over piece of the pattern paper to 3/4 x 3-1/2″ and adhered it to the bottom of the panel, then rounded the corners before adhereing it to the card base.

5 Cards 1 Kit (Simon Says Stamps July Card Kit)

Hello friends. I finally got to play with this adorable bee-themed card kit from Simon Says Stamps. It’s the July Card Kit called Bee Yourself. Lots of fun products to play with and I just adore the stampset. Unfortunately the kit is no longer available but I will link all the available individual products. I almost strictly used only the card kit contents. I did bring in a few of my own products and I will link those below as well.

Card Kit Supplies

When I first saw the reveal video for this kit, I fell for the paper pad from Honeybee Stamps immediately. I knew I had to use the aqua watercolor pattern first. I kept it simple. I wanted to see if I could foil using a stamp and the glue pad and a stamp (didn’t have transfer gel. I do NOW though 🙂 ).

For the first card, I cut out the aqua watercolor pattern piece to 4 x 5 1/4” and glued it onto an A2 sized white card base (Simon Says Stamp White 120# cardstock). I then used the Glue Sponge like an ink pad with a stamp and then placed the Rainbow Shattered Glass Foil Transfer Sheet on top of the area and ran it through my laminator. It didn’t come out even but I decided to make it work. I added some strips of two other pattern papers from the Honey Bee The Bee’s Knees exclusive 6 x 6 paper pad.

I had previously stamped, colored and fussycut several bees from the Simon Says Stamp Bee Yourself 6 x 8 clear stamp set. I laid out my stamps on my card then using Ranger Black Archival Jet I stamped the bee trail and then using Versamark clear embossing ink I stamped the sentiment and heat embossed it with Wow white embossing powder. I colored the “BEE” with a yellow and white Prismacolor Pencils, and adhered my bee and added some of the sequins from the Black and Yellow custom sequin pack.

I stamped the bee and trail again on the inside of the card and added a second smaller sentiment.

The second card came together very quickly. I cut a piece of the yellow hexagon paper from the Honey Bee The Bee’s Knees exclusive 6 x 6 paper pad to 4 x 5 1/4” and adhered it to an A2 sized black card base (Simon Says Stamp Black cardstock). Next I used some of the rainbow foil on the preprinted foilable cards and fussycut out the flower and sentiment.

I diecut a few hexagons from Simon Says Stamp Black cardstock using the Simon Says Stamp Small Hexagon Cluster wafer thin die and a few from some black glitter paper. I added the black hexagon cluster to the card and then inlayed 3 glitter hexagons back into the clusters. I added a black mat behind the sentiment. Then I adhered the flower onto the right side of the card and the sentiment toward the bottom. I adhered the little bees and added some sequins to finish off the card.

For my next card I wanted to use the foil as if I didn’t have a laminating machine. I diecut a piece of Simon Says Stamp Black cardstock with the Honeybee Stamps Hexagon Coverplate Top Die. I cut a piece of the Rainbow Foil and adhered it to the back of the black panel and adhered that into an A2 sized card base (Simon Says Stamp Seaglass cardstock). I wanted to keep this one very simple so the sparkly background could be the star. I cut a strip of Simon Says Stamp Black cardstock to about 1 1/4 x 4” and heat embossed the BEE yourself sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Bee Yourself 6 x 8 clear stamp set in Wow white embossing powder. I adhered that to the card front, added the bees and some sequins and the card is done. Or is it? Nope because I couldn’t stop there. I stamped the “bee-utiful” sentiment and a little bee with Ranger Black Archival Jet Black on the inside of the card. And now this card is done!

3 cards done, 2 to go…

Another paper that I really like for this collection was the black and white wonky (technical term :)) striped one. Another thing I wanted to use was the foilable cards. And the rainbow one of course calls for rainbow foil (duh). I only foiled the rainbow itself and the little bees so that they would stand out. I fussycut around the images and words, leaving a white border around them. I chose the yellow polka dotted pattern paper from the paper pad as my background. I cut a piece to 3 1/4 x 5 1/2”. I adhered a strip of the black and white wonky stripe paper onto and A2 sized card base (Simon Says Stamp Sunshine cardstock), leaving a 1/4 inch on each side, and adhered the yellow polka dot one in the center over that piece. I added some thin Love From Lizi Pin Stripe Black Glitter Peel Offs to separate the patterns a bit. I love the peel offs from Love From Lizi! They add interest to your card with little effort and she sells soooo many colors (glitter, metallic, transparent). Super fun.

Anyways back to my card…

I adhered the images down onto the card and added some sequins from the included pack. To finish off the inside I cut a piece of Simon Says Stamp White 120# cardstock to 4 x 5 1/4” and adhered inside the card. I added a 1 x 5 1/4” strip of the yellow polka dotted paper and a 1/2 x 5 1/4” strip of the black and white wonky striped paper to the right side of that panel. And stamped the “JUST bee-cause” sentiment in Ranger Black Archival Jet Black. And this completes card #4.

While I was making these cards, I had a thought…how cute would the bees look on a tag??? So I got out my trusty tag die from Tim Holtz (Sizzix Framelit Dies – Tag Collection by Tim Holtz) and diecut 2 tags using the second to largest die from Simon Says Stamp Black cardstock. I chose two pattern papers for my backgrounds, the light wood grain and the black and aqua hexagons, diecut 2 of each of those and glued them onto the front and back of the tag. Then I got to distressing.

For this first tag, I used Ranger Distress Ink – Tumbled Glass, Ranger Distress Ink – Walnut Stain, Ranger Distress Ink – Antique Linen, and Ranger Distress Ink – Black Soot. I kept layering them and drying in between til I got the desired color. Once everything dried, I added 4 pieces of the Simon Says Stamp Small Hexagon Cluster wafer thin die. Then I heat embossed a sentiment using Versamark clear embossing ink and Wow white embossing powder. I stamped a bee trail in black with in Ranger Black Archival Jet Black and added a bee which I had colored using COPIC markers and fussycut. Lastly I fussycut some blue flowers from the white pattern paper that featured them, applied some distress ink around edges and adhered those in place. I then added white splatters with some acrylic paint. To finish off the tag I added some Lawn Fawn Trimmings Lemon Single Cord and Nuvo Drops in Ivory Seashell.

For this second tag I used Ranger Distress Ink – Tumbled Glass, Ranger Distress Ink – Mustard Seed, Ranger Distress Ink – Walnut Stain, and Ranger Distress Ink – Black Soot. I then used some scraps of the pattern paper and adhered them diagonally to the bottom right of the tag, and added some distress ink to tone them down. I added some Love From Lizi Pin Stripe Black Glitter Peel Offs, stamped some hexagons in Ranger Black Archival Jet Black and heat embossed a sentiment using Versamark clear embossing ink and Wow white embossing powder. I colored the ‘BEE’ with Prismacolor Pencils, added some Lawn Fawn Aquamarine Single Cord and the tag is done.

I don’t want to leave this tag just as is though. I thought it might look cute as a card instead. So I cut a piece of the yellow hexagon paper to 1-1/4 x 5 1/2” and a piece of the yellow polka dot paper to -1 x 5 1/2” and adhere it to the.back of the hexagon paper and adhered both to an A2 sized card base (Simon Says Stamp Black cardstock).

I adhered the tag to the card base on a slight angle, placing it over the edges.i trimmed off the excess and proceeded to diecut some more hexagon clusters with black cardstock and adhered them to the card. I added one on the black. paper so it looks like it’s embossed. I added three little bees and some sequins to complete this card.

5 Cards 1 Kit (Simon Says Stamps July 2019 Card Kit)

Super fun.

I adhered the tag to the card base on a slight angle, placing it over the edges. I trimmed off the excess and proceeded to diecut some more hexagon clusters with black cardstock and adhered them to the card. I added one on the black paper so it looks like it’s embossed. I added three little bees and some sequins to complete this card.

Stampin’ Up! So Hoppy Together Stampset

Hello friends, I’m coming at you today with this cute and simple froggy card using Stampin’ Up!’s SO HOPPY TOGETHER Stamp Set. I’ve had this stampset for awhile and just got around to making some cards. It was part of the Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration 2019 catalog so unfortunately is no longer available but I still wanted to present some inspiration for those of you who have this stampset. And if you don’t have the stampset you can easily substitute another critter for the frogs. And if you want to own any of these cards they are both available for sale in my Etsy shop.

Celebrate Your Awesomeness Card

For this card I kept things simple. I cut a card base to 8 1/2 x 5 1/2” from Neenah Solar White 110lb Cardstock and scored it at 4 1/4”. Then cut and adhered a panel measuring 4 1/4 x 5 1/2” and a Strip to 1 3/4 x 5 1/2” from Queen and Company Flirty Florals Paper Pad to the card base. Using a paper pad is a great way to ensure that all your pattern papers coordinate. No guessing necessary.

I stamped the frog images onto Neenah Solar White 110lb Cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored them with Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends Markers, Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends Markers, Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends Markers, Pool Party Stampin’ Blends Markers and Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Blends Markers.

I fussycut all the images out then diecut the circles with the Queen and Company Foundation Dies #1. Using the Company Sentiment Stacker Dies, I diecut the ‘Celebrate’ word from Simon Says Stamp Black Card stock and the shadow from Stampin’ Up! Vellum. I adhered those two pieces together then proceeded to stamp and heat emboss the sentiment strip onto black cardstock using Versamark clear embossing ink and Wow white embossing powder. That was then cut out using the Company Foundation Dies #2.

I figured out the placement of all the images and sentiments on the card and adhered. Finished it off with some Nuvo drops in Key Lime, Purple Rain and Sea Breeze. I also stamped the froggy image on a white envelope.

Hoppy For You

This card is my favorite of the two. Also quite easy to make. This time the pattern paper is just an accent or enhancement.

I cut a card base to 8 1/2 x 5 1/2” and a panel to 4 x 5 1/4” from Neenah Solar White 110lb Cardstock. Then cut a strip of Catherine Pooler Black Tie Gala Patterned Paper to 1 3/16 x 5 1/4” and Simon Says Stamp Black Card stock to 1 3/8 x 5 1/4″. I adhered those two pieces together and then to the card panel. Then adhered the white card panel to the card base.

I had already stamped and colored the images prior to starting this card. If I know I’m making multiple cards using the same stamp set, I like to stamp and color all the images I need (or just a bunch of I’m not sure what I want to use) before I create my cards. I will fussycut them just before I begin the cardmaking process. Onto the next step then…

I used some Neenah Solar White 110lb Cardstock and used the direct-to-paper method to color with Catherine Pooler Fiesta Blue Ink. This method is a great way to match your cardstock to your project. If you want to see this technique in action check out this video from Catherine Pooler.

Next I diecut the word “HOPPY” with the Honey Bee Bee Bold Alphabet Dies. I also cut two additional sets of the word from Neenah Solar White 110lb Cardstock. I stacked the two white sets together and adhered, followed by the colored set of letters on top of those.

I stamped the sentiment with the Lawn Fawn Happy Happy Happy Sentiments using Versamark clear embossing ink onto Simon Says Stamp Black Card stock and heat embossed with Wow white embossing powder. I cut it down to a strip measuring 1/2 x 1 3/4”. Time to adhere the sentiments and the little froggy on his unicycle as well as his fluttering friends. He’s just so cute, don’t you think?!? Finished it off with some Nuvo drops in Key Lime, Sea Breeze, and Rosewater. Lastly I stamped a little frog on a white envelope in Catherine Pooler Fiesta Blue Ink.
