Mother's Day

Mother’s Day Card feat. Lawn Fawn How You Bean?

Hello friends. Are you in need of a Mother’s Day Card? Does the woman in your life love sewing? Then the new Lawn Fawn How You Bean? Buttons Add-on stampset is perfect for them. I absolutely love the How You Bean? stampset and all the add-ons Lawn Fawn has developed since it’s inception. Mason jars are super cute on cards and having lots of add-ons helps.

For the first card, I cut a piece of Simon Says Stamp 100# GREEN APPLE Cardstock to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″ to create a card base and a piece of a piece of My Favorite Things Tranquil Textures 6 x 6 Cardstock (I think this paper is discontinued) to 4-1/4 x 5-1/2″. Then diecut another piece from the same paper pack and one from Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ with the Catherine Pooler Designs Dotted Zig Zag Cover Plate. I trimmed the white piece to 4 x 5-1/4″ and the pattern paper to 1-3/8 x 4″.

I stamped the images from Lawn Fawn How You Bean? Buttons Add-on stampset onto Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them with Copic Markers. I used BV0000, BV00 & BV13, RV000, RV52 & RV55, YG01, YG03 & YG11 for the buttons; BG000 and Copic blender (0) for the mason jar; C3, C5 & N6 for the jar lid; and C00 & C1 for the label.

I stamped the sentiment from Lawn Fawn How You Bean? Buttons Add-on stampset onto Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and trimmed down and added some Simon Says Stamp 100# Black Cardstock behind it.

I die cut the letters from Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ 1x and 3x from Simon Says Stamp 100# Black Cardstock using the Lawn Fawn Henry’s ABCs and stacked them. I colored the white letters with RV000, RV52 & RV55, Copic Markers. To finish off the card, I added some shimmer with the Spectrum Noir Clear Overlay Sparkle Pens to the buttons and the die cut letters.

On the inside of the card, I cut a piece of Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 4 x 5-1/4″ and a piece of the same pale purple pattern paper to 1 x 5-1/4″. I also diecut the sentiment from the same paper pad with the Lawn Fawn Giant Happy Mother’s Day and added some addtional buttons.

Combining Dies to Make a Background: Strawberry Jar Shaker Card (feat. Lawn Fawn)

Hi friends. I tried something new with my background dies which gave me a cool 3-dimensional background. I combined the Catherine Pooler Designs Narrow Stripe Cover Plate and the Catherine Pooler Designs Sprinkles Mini Cover Plate to create this fun background. It was super easy. Here’s how I did it…

For this card, I cut a piece of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″ to create the card base. I also cut a piece of Lawn Fawn Gotta Have Gignham Rainbow 12×12 Collection Pack to 4 x 5-1/4″ for the top panel. I die cut two pieces of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock with the frame from the Catherine Pooler Designs Sprinkles Mini Cover Plate (3/4 x 4-1/2″) and then used the Catherine Pooler Designs Narrow Stripe Cover Plate to diecut that piece. Then added every other stripe to the rectangle panel I previously die cut to create a tone-on-tone 3-d effect for my background.

I stamped and colored all my images from the Lawn Fawn How You Bean? and Lawn Fawn How You Bean? Strawberries Add-on stampsets. I stamped them onto some Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Ink. I colored the images with Copic Markers. I used BG000 + 0 for the mason jar and R22, R05 + R27 and YG05 + G07 for the strawberries. Then I die cut all the images using the coordinating dies.

For the mason jar shaker, instead of using foam tape (which would be a slight pain to add due to the small size) I diecut about 7 mason jars from Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock using the Lawn Fawn How You Bean? Shaker Add-on and stacked them. I diecut the acetate piece with the same die set (using the background die included) as well as the backing piece for the shaker which I colored with the same copic markers (BG000 + 0).

For the shaker element, I used Queen & Co Toppings in Pink and Clear Diamonds and some older Martha Stewart Iridescent Hearts and Stars Glitter (no longer available).

For the sentiment, I stamped one from the Lawn Fawn How You Bean? Strawberries Add-on stampset onto some Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Ink and cut it down to 3/4 x 1″ and popped it onto the card using some 3M Foam Tape.

Lastly, I finished it off by adding some highlights with a White Gel Pen. One note: I added the highlights to the strawberries on the inside before adhering it inside the shaker element. I also added some Ruby Slipper Nuvo Glitter Drops to the card.

On the inside of the card, I stamped a sentiment from the Lawn Fawn How You Bean? stampset with Stampin’ Up! Real Red Ink. I also added a strip of the same pattern paper from the front of the card measuring 1 x 4-1/4″ and adhered 1/2 a strawberry image I had left over.

Birthdays

Pattern Paper vs. Ink Blending (feat. Lawn Fawn Strawberry Dies)

Hi friends. I saw a video by Nicol Spohr comparing these two techniques with Easter Cards and I thought it would be cute to try it with the strawberry dies from Lawn Fawn.

For the first card, I cut a piece of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock to 7 x10″ and scored at 5″ to create the card base. I also cut a piece of Lawn Fawn GOTTA HAVE GINGHAM RAINBOW 6 x 6 Collection Pack cut to 4-3/4″ x 6″ and a piece of Doodlebug CUTE AND CRAFTY 12×12 Inch Petite Print Assortment Paper Pack cut to 4-3/4 x 6-3/4″ for the top panel. To seperate the two papers I added Love From Lizi Pin Stripe Peel-Off Stickers in Lilac Mirror.

I diecut the bowl, strawberries, and leaves from Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock with the Lawn Fawn Strawberry Patch Die Cuts and Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Strawberry Die Cuts. Then used distress oxide inks to color all the pieces. I used Tim Holtz Worn Lipstick and Candied Apple Distress Oxide Inks for the strawberry fronts and sprayed some water on them with a Distress Sprayer bottle, Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide Ink for the strawberry backs, Black Soot Distress Ink for the eyes and mouth, Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Ink for the cheeks, Peeled Paint and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide Inks for the leaves, Broken China Distress Oxide Ink for the bowl, Squeezed Lemonade, Worn Lipstick and Tumbled Glass for the flowers.

After I adhered all the images to the card, I stamped a bee and a bee trail onto a piece of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock from the Simon Says Clear Stamps BEE YOURSELF Stampset with Memento Tuxedo Ink and colored it with Copic Markers. I used Y13, Y17 & Y18, N5 & N8, R20, BG000 & 0. I popped him up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped a sentiment from Lawn Fawn HOW YOU BEAN STRAWBERRIES ADD-ON Clear Stamps and Dies onto a piece of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Ink and cut it to 3/8 x 2-7/8″.

I finished it off by adding some highlights to the strawberries with a White Gel Pen and Tonic Ruby Slipper Nuvo Glitter Drops to the white flowers and Morning Dew Nuvo Crystal Drops to the eyes.

On the inside of the card, I adhered a piece of Lawn Fawn GOTTA HAVE GINGHAM RAINBOW 6 x 6 Collection Pack cut to 1 x 5″ and a piece of 1-3/16 x 5″ of Doodlebug CUTE AND CRAFTY 12×12 Inch Petite Print Assortment Paper Pack. Then diecut the word ‘happy’ from Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock with Honey Bee Stamps Donut Worry Dies (retired) and colored it with Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide Ink to create an ombre effect. I stamped a sentiment from the Lawn Fawn How You Bean? Stampset with Memento Tuxedo Ink. I also added a small strawberry to the bottom.

For the second card, I cut a piece of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock to 7 x10″ and scored at 5″ to create the card base and another cut to 4-3/4 x 6″, which I inked with Tim Holtz Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Ink and sprayed some water on them with a Distress Sprayer bottle. I also cut a piece of Lawn Fawn GOTTA HAVE GINGHAM RAINBOW 6 x 6 Collection Pack to 4-3/4 x 6-3/4″ for the top panel. To seperate the two papers I added Love From Lizi Pin Stripe Peel-Off Stickers – Gold Mirror Moondust.

I diecut the bowl, strawberries, and flowers from Doodlebug CUTE AND CRAFTY 12×12 Inch Petite Print Assortment Paper Pack, the eyes, mouth and flower centers from Simon Says Stamp 100# Black Cardstock, the leaves from Authentique 6 x 6 Emerald Papers (retired) and the cheeks from Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock.

Then I used distress oxide inks to color the strawberry fronts, the bowl and the leaves to add some dimension. I used Tim Holtz Candied Apple Distress Oxide Ink for the strawberry fronts, Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Ink for the cheeks, Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide Ink for the leaves, Broken China Distress Oxide Ink for the bowl.

After I adhered all the images to the card, again I stamped a bee and a bee trail onto a piece of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock from the Simon Says Clear Stamps BEE YOURSELF Stampset with Memento Tuxedo Ink and colored it with Copic Markers. I used Y13, Y17 & Y18, N5 & N8, R20, BG000 & 0. I popped him up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used the same sentiment as the previous card and cut it to 3/8 x 2-7/8″. I finished off the card by adding some highlights to the strawberries with a White Gel Pen and Tonic Ruby Slipper Nuvo Glitter Drops to the white flowers and Morning Dew Nuvo Crystal Drops to the eyes.

On the inside of the card, I adhered a piece of Lawn Fawn GOTTA HAVE GINGHAM RAINBOW 6 x 6 Collection Pack cut to 1 x 5″ and diecut the word ‘happy’ from Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock with Honey Bee Stamps Donut Worry Dies (retired) and colored it with Worn Lipstick and Candied Apple Distress Oxide Inks to create an ombre effect. I stamped a sentiment from the Lawn Fawn How You Bean? Stampset with Memento Tuxedo Ink. I also added a small strawberry to the bottom.

Fun Minty Cards featuring Lawn Fawn Dies

Hello friends. When Lawn Fawn came out with the How You Bean? Mint Add-on, I knew I had to get it. I love that they keep adding sets to go with the How You Bean? set. They are so much fun to play with and endless possibilities for cards. I used the same background die for both — the Lawn Fawn Peppermint Stripes Backdrop along with the same two stamp sets above to make two cards for different occasions.

For both cards, I cut two pieces of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″ to create card bases. Then I die cut Stampin’ Up! Real Red 8-1/2″ x 11″ Cardstock and Lawn Fawn Guava 8-1/2 x 11″ Cardstock with the Lawn Fawn Peppermint Stripes Backdrop and adhered each to the card base.

For the first card, I die cut a panel from Vellum with the Catherine Pooler Scallops and Dots Die Set and embossed it with one of the embossing folders from the the Queen and Company Embossing Folder Bundle.

I stamped the mason jar from Lawn Fawn HOW YOU BEAN? stampset with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto some Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ and the lid with Tsukineko Stazon Midi Jet Black Ink Pad onto a piece of Stampin’ Up! RED & GREEN 12″ X 12″FOIL SHEETS. Then stamped the peppermints from the Lawn Fawn Set How You Bean? Mint Add-on with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto some Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″.

I used Copic Markers to color the jar and add some shading to the peppermints. I used BG000 + BG01 and C1 and C00 for the peppermints. I diecut all the images with the coordinating dies and adhered them to the card, popping up a few peppermints using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped a sentiment from Lawn Fawn’s Merry Messages Stamp Set with Stampin’ Up! Real Red Ink onto Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ and trimmed it before adding to the card.

I finished it by adding some Tonic FRESH SNOWFALL Nuvo Glitter Accents.

On the inside of the card, I stamped a sentiment from Lawn Fawn’s Merry Messages Stamp Set and peppermints from the Lawn Fawn Set How You Bean? Mint Add-on with Stampin’ Up! Real Red Ink.

Shop Your Stash Day 4: Reveal Wheel Mason Jar Aquarium

When I was going through my die stash I remembered how much I loved my Reveal Wheel dies from Lawn Fawn as well as the Lawn Fawn How You Bean? Stamp sets so I decided to combine them and see what happens. After all fish fit in a mason jar right?? (I probably wouldn’t put real fish in the mason jar but it’s fine for fake fish!)

For this card I started by cutting a piece of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″. Then I used the Lawn Fawn Reveal Wheel Die to diecut the 2 wheels and two panels of the reveal wheel base. I diecut the the window into one of the panels with the Lawn Fawn Reveal Wheel Semicircle Add-on Die Cut and then turned it 180 degrees and diecut it under the first window.

I inked up the panel using MFT’s Snow Drifts Coverup Die (not available) as a stencil ccombined with Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon, Mowed Lawn and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink. I created a gradient using Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon first, then turned the die 180 degrees and used Mowed Lawn to layer over it, and finally Tumbled Glass over all of it to mute it some. I used the same color combo on the large wheel, without the stencil. I sprayed some water on everything with my RANGER Tim Holtz DISTRESS SPRAYER and blotted it.

I set that aside to dry and stamped all the images from the Lawn Fawn FINTASTIC FRIENDS onto a piece of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I also stamped the large fishtank (I will use just the sand) and the mason jar from Lawn Fawn HOW YOU BEAN? (onto clear acetate) with Tsukineko Stazon Black Ink .

Once the inked panel was dry I added splashes of white acrylic paint and heat embossed bubbles and a sentiment from Lawn Fawn FINTASTIC FRIENDS. I prepped the surface with an anti-static tool first (make sure the acrylic paint has dried) then used Versamark Ink and WOW Embossing Powder Opaque Bright White Super Fine. I assembled the reveal wheel using 3M Foam Tape and adhered it to the card base. To see how to assemble the reveal wheel check out this video from Lawn Fawn.

I colored the images with COPIC markers. I used Y06, Y15 and YR04 for the goldfish, E53, E33, and E37 for the sandcastle, B95 and 97 for the shark, YG25 and YG03 for the plants, R05, R14, R17 and R27 for the crab, R05 and R12 for the coral, Y06, Y15, B24 and B26 for the striped fish and E53 and E33 for the sand in the jar tank.

I diecut all the images and adhered them to the card using Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue. I used Glossy Accents Glue Adhesive to adhere the mason jar. I stamped the arrow from Lawn Fawn’s Push Here stampset with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto the card base and finished it off by adding White Blizzard Nuvo Drops and a few Pretty Pink Posh 4MM ClearDroplets.

On the inside, I stamped a sentiment from the Lawn Fawn HOW YOU BEAN? with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and an extra sandcastle I had colored.
