Create a Shaker Card Using Word Dies! feat. Catherine Pooler Designs

Hello friends. Here’s an easy way to make a shaker card. Just use word dies to cut out the shaker window! This one was created using Catherine Pooler Designs Festive Joy Word Die.

For this card, I cut a piece of Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″ as well as a piece of watercolor paper to 4-1/4 x 5-1/2″ for the background.

For the back panel I used Color Burst Powder (Brights) to add watercolor. Then die cut it using the CP Dots & Scallops Dies. I stamped swirl from the CP It’s Magic Background Stamp with CP Midnight Ink.

I die cut the shaker window using the CP Festive Joy Word Die, added some acetate behind it as well as some foam tape. I added sequins in pinks, reds, greens and white iridescent to the shaker. And backed it with a piece of Simon Says Stamp Cardstock 100lb Black Cardstock.

I stamped a sentiment from the Catherine Pooler Holiday Joy Sentiments Stamp Set onto Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ with CP Midnight Ink and fuzzycut it. I also stamped the holly from the same set and colored using Copic markers. I used R59 & R27, YG17 & YG25.

On the inside of the card, I added the positive of the word joy I previously cut out and added another holly. And for the sentiment, I stamped a sentiment from the Catherine Pooler Holiday Joy Sentiments Stamp Set onto Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ with CP Midnight Ink and fuzzycut it.

Using Up Scraps to Create A Background feat. Catherine Pooler Designs Count to Six Cover Plate

Hello friends. For this card, I thought I’d use up some of my patterned paper scraps. You can easily make a quick and impactful background using strips of cardstock and pattern papers. I used the Catherine Pooler Designs Count to Six Cover Plate to create my focal image but as you’ll see I did a little something different to it to make it work for this card!

For this card, I cut a piece of Lawn Fawn Paper Bag 100lb Cardstock to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″. I cut strips of pattern paper from Catherine Pooler Designs Sunflower Fields Forever 6 x 6 Patterned Paper and Bushel and a Peck 6 x 6 Patterned Paper and adhered them on a diagonal onto the card base, trimming off any excess.

I die cut the Catherine Pooler Designs Count to Six Cover Plate (included in the Boo Box) 3x from Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ and cut off about half of each panel to create my window strip. Behind the panel I cut a piece of Lawn Fawn Paper Bag 100lb Cardstock and ran it through my die cut machine with the Darice Woodgrain Embossing Folder Background. I also used some CP Spiced Ink to add some color over the raised areas of the panel.

I stamped the several leaves from the Stampin’ up! Colorful Seasons Stampset (retired) onto Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ with CP It’s a Girl, Samba, Sauna, Spiced, Green Tea, Eucalyptus, and Wintergreen inks. And cut them using the coordinating dies.

I stamped the sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Scripty Autumn Sentiments onto Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ with CP Spiced Ink. I used the coordinating dies for the ‘autumn’ and hand trimmed the ‘hello’. I also die cut a banner from the Lawn Fawn Fancy Wavy Banner set (I think this may get discontinued soon) from Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ and colored the border with Eucalyptus ink.

On the inside of the card, I cut a piece of Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 4 x 5-1/4″ and two pieces of Catherine Pooler Designs Bushel and a Peck 6 x 6 Patterned Paper to 1 x 4″ and 1-1/4 x 4″. I stamped a sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Scripty Autumn Sentiments with CP Spiced and Eucalyptus Inks and some more leaves.

Easter Window Scene Card featuring Lawn Fawn

Hello friends. Here’s another way to use the Lawn Fawn Window Scene: Spring Stampset if you don’t have a window die. I combined it with the Lawn Fawn Secret Garden Window Dies to create a cute dimensional window scene. Check out the Lawn Fawn website for even more ideas!

For this card, I cut a piece of Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″ to create a card base, and another piece to 4-1/4 x 5-1/2″. I embossed this panel with the Darice Embossing Essentials Folder 1218-66 Basket Weave (discontinued). I colored the panel with Tim Holtz Seedless Preserves and Villainous Potion Distress Oxide Inks.

I stamped the window scene from Lawn Fawn Window Scene: Spring Stampset onto Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ with Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I also stamped some images from the Lawn Fawn Eggstraordinary Easter and Lawn Fawn Eggstraordinary Easter Add-On Stampsets. Then colored the images with Copic Markers. I used Y13 & Y17, R20, YR04 & YR09 for the chicks; C0, C1, R20 & 0 for the bunny; YR04, YR09, YG25 & YG67 for the carrots; Y17, RV55, BG000, YR04 & YR09, V22 & V28 & BG02 for the butterflies; YG25, YG67 & G28, E27 & E49 for the trees and grass; Y13 & Y17 for the sun; Y17 for the flower centers; RV000, RV52 & RV5, YR04 & YR09, Y13 & Y18, and BG000 & BG02 for the tiny eggs; RV000 & RV52 for the large egg.

I die cut the window from Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ using the Lawn Fawn Secret Garden Window Dies. I cut two pieces; the first piece I colored with Copics and the second I left white and cut off the flowers and leaves to create a border. I used 3M Foam Tape to pop up the window.

I added a sentiment using the Simon Says Stamp Sentiment Strips Easter Wishes. I popped it up using 3M Foam Tape. I finished off the card by adding some highlights with a White Gel Pen.

On the inside of the card, I added another sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Sentiment Strips Easter Wishes and added a chick and flower.

Fall Card Series #5: Window Card feat. Catherine Pooler Appley Ever After

Hello friends. The next post in my Fall card series features a window card using the coordinating dies from the Catherine Poolerโ€™s Appley Ever After stampset. This was a very easy card to make. To add texture to the background I added an embossed panel behind it (more on this later in the post).

For the first card, I cut a piece of Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″ to create a card base and another piece 4-1/4 x 5-1/2″ which I embossed using the Catherine Pooler Designs Woven Coverplate (see your embossing machines instructions for proper sandwich).

I cut a piece of pattern paper from the Catherine Pooler Bushel and a Peck 6 x 6 Patterned Paper to 2-1/4 x 5-1/2″ and cut out three apple windows using the dies from the Appley Ever After Dies. I cut 2 pieces of red metallic cardstock from Tim Holtz Idea-ology 8 x 8 Paper Stash Metallic Jewels Kraft Stock to 3/4 x 5-1/2″.

Then stamped a sentiment and two apples onto Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ from the Catherine Pooler Designs Appley Ever After Stamp Set with Midnight, Samba, It’s a Girl, Over Coffee, and Deck the Halls Inks. I added Foam Tape behind the top panel and adhered the apples and sentiment behind it before adhereing to the card base.

On the inside of the card I stamped a sentiment from the CP Joyful Thanks Sentiments Stamp Set with Samba Ink and added a strip of pattern paper measuring 1 x 5-1/2″.

Springtime Window Card feat. Lawn Fawn Furever Friends

Hello friends. I had to use the free stampset, Furever Friends, I received from Lawn Fawn with the purchase of products from the new Spring release. The kitties and mice are so cute! They’re very simple images but so sweet.

For this card, I cut a piece of Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″ to create a card base and three pieces to 4 x 5-1/4″. I die cut a stitched window from one panel and the floral window from the second using the Lawn Fawn Secret Garden Window Dies.

I colored the floral elements with Copic Markers. I used BV11 & BV17, B32 & B26, RV04 & RV09 and YR14 & YR16 for the flowers; YG01 & YG25 & YG17 for the leaves.

I used the Lawn Fawn Corner Rainbow Stencil along with Tim Holtz Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade, Mowed Lawn, Broken China, and Wilted Violet Distress Inks. I used Tumbled Glass Distress Ink for the sky.

I stamped the cats from the Lawn Fawn Furever Friends (free with purchase) onto Neenah 100lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ with Memento Tuxedo Ink. I used Copic Markers to color them. I used N2, N4, N6 and the blender.

I stamped the sentiment directly onto the top panel with Memento Tuxedo Ink along with two of the birds. I finshed off the card by adding some glitter with Spectrum Noir CLEAR OVERLAY Sparkle Pens and Glossy Accents to the flower centers.

I left the inside of the card blank.

4 x 5-1/4″. I die cut a stitched window from one panel and the floral window from the second using the Lawn Fawn Secret Garden Window Dies.

Strawberry Shaker Card (feat. Lawn Fawn)

Hi friends. I had lots of fun making this cute strawberry shaker card using the Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Strawberry Die Cuts and Lawn Fawn Strawberry Patch Die Cuts. I love that this large strawberry die comes with face elements you can add to make it cuter.

For this card, I cut a piece of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″ to create the card base. I also cut a piece of Stampin’ Up! Real Red 8-1/2 x 11″ Cardstock to 4-1/2 x 4-1/2″ for the top panel. I die cut the strawberry window from the panel using the Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Strawberry Die Cuts.

Next, I die cut a ton of the seeds with the same die set from Simon Says Stamp 100# Black Cardstock and adhered them around the window. I diecut the leaves from Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Strawberry Die Cuts and Lawn Fawn Strawberry Patch Die Cuts from Authentique 6 x 6 Emerald Papers (retired) and added some dimension by coloring them with Tim Holtz Mowed Lawn Distress Oxides Ink. I cut the flowers from Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock and colored the back piece with Lawn Fawn Guava Ink.

Next, I built the shaker element by adding a piece of Acetate behind the window and two layers of 3M Foam Tape behind. I added shaker bits from Queen and Company Fruit Toppings, Pastel Diamonds Toppings, and pink pearls from Bring On Spring Topping Refill. I sealed the shaker by adding a piece of Lawn Fawn 100lb Guava 8 1/2″ x 11″ Cardstock.

For the sentiment, I stamped part of it from the Lawn Fawn HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY Stampset and the rest from Lawn Fawn Simply Sentiments onto some Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Ink and cut them down into strips. To finish off the sentiment, I die cut the word “BERRY” from Tim Holtz Idea-ology 8 X 8 Paper Stash Metallic Jewels Kraft Stock with Honey Bee Tailgate Alphabet Dies. I also added the eyes and a mouth from the Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Strawberry Die Cuts which I cut from Simon Says Stamp 100# Black Cardstock.

Lastly, I finished it off by adding some highlights with a White Gel Pen.

I left the inside of the card blank.

Window Card Using a Laminator featuring Simon Says Stamp

Happy Monday friends! Hope you are safe and had a good weekend. Today I am bringing you this card featuring a faux shaker. I saw this technique used by Jennifer McGuire and I decided to try it. I made it simpler by using pattern paper and some stamped snowflakes.

I started by cutting a piece of Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue 100lb Card Stock to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″, to create a card base. I cut out a strip from the front of the card base, measuring 1-1/4โ€ in height and then two strips of the stories from the Carta Bella Santa’s Workshop 6 x 6 Designer Papers (discontinued), each measuring 1-1/2 x 5-1/2โ€.

I took some sequins and added them inside a laminating pouch and ran that through a lamination machine. I trimmed it down to approximately 3 x 5-1/2โ€ and adhered it between the card base pieces and the pattern pieces using 1/4โ€ double sided tape.

I stamped a sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp CHRISTMAS CHEER Stamps onto a piece of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest Cardstock 8.5 X 11″ with Catherine Pooler Midnight Ink. Then cut it down to 3/8 x 2-3/4โ€ and adhered it to the card. I also stamped some snowflakes with Tim Holtz Festive Berries Distress Oxide Ink, fussycut them out and adhered them to the card.

On the inside of the card, I adhered two strips of another pattern paper from the Carta Bella Santa’s Workshop 6 x 6 Designer Papers (discontinued), each measuring 1-1/2 x 5-1/2โ€, to the back of the front panel. Then I stamped another greeting from the Simon Says Stamp CHRISTMAS CHEER Stamps with Tim Holtz Festive Berries Distress Oxide Ink.
